On Monday, August 25, 2025, the Rotary family gathered for the sixth meeting of the Rotary year, continuing the strong spirit of connection and engagement that defines the club.

The evening opened on a festive note as members came together to celebrate a belated birthday for FR Bert Kampsteeg, who marked his special day on July 26. Warm wishes and fellowship set the tone for an uplifting night.

Special recognition was also given to the four Rotary cyclists, along with their dedicated supporter, who proudly represented the club at the Kiwanis Bike 4 Kids event the previous Sunday. Their enthusiasm and commitment to community service reflected Rotary’s values in action and brought pride to all in attendance.

The highlight of the evening was a presentation by special guests Nanelle Croes and Jerome van de Spill from Transition 2 Health. In addition to celebrating their wedding anniversary, they delivered an insightful and engaging talk on Active Aging. Their message combined practical guidance with inspiration, emphasizing that aging is an opportunity to thrive rather than simply grow older.

They shared seven essential principles for healthy aging: staying physically active, exercising the mind, maintaining a healthy diet, managing stress, prioritizing quality sleep, staying socially engaged, and keeping up with regular health check-ups. Their message resonated strongly with members: it is not only about adding years to life, but about adding life to years.

The evening concluded in a spirit of joy, learning, and connection—an excellent reflection of Rotary fellowship at its best.
