Past President Reuben joined the club on June 1st, 1991, and was an active board member for six or seven years, and the club secretary twice. He became President in 2002-2003, a position which he feels matured and enriched him considerably. He calls himself an old fashioned Rotarian, and recognizes his duty to help his community, and render service with pleasure and enthusiasm, which consequently delivers great success.

Fellow Rotarian Reuben describes his Rotary Club of Aruba experience as exceptional, filled with unforgettable moments. He remembers his early years in the club, the various positions he held, and later the President's training, by visiting instructors from other districts.

He recalls being pinned President, working hard to meet Rotary Club of Aruba's goals, and then stepping down with a sense of pride coupled with relief. As President, he banters, you are very fortunate if you conclude your time with the club intact, the way you found it. "I stepped down," he explains, "with gratitude and pride, having done my best, in office.

He also forged great friendships at Rotary Club of Aruba and in the districts, and he reports he enjoyed not talking about medicine during meetings. "It is a great diversion,” he states, “the fact that our focus is on our community and not on our own professional lives." Reuben has always given Rotary Club of Aruba top priority.
