On September 1st, 2025, the Rotary Club gathered for another inspiring evening, marked by learning, fellowship, and meaningful exchange. The meeting featured a thought-provoking session led by Giandra de Cuba on “Building Stronger Teams Through Serious Play,” offering members a fresh and interactive approach to collaboration and creativity.

The evening also welcomed two distinguished guests. Janely Nicolaas, newly appointed Director of Centro Kibrahacha, was introduced to the club and shared her enthusiasm for her new role. The club extended a warm welcome by presenting her with a 75+ year Rotary history book, symbolizing both appreciation and a connection to the club’s long-standing heritage.

In addition, visiting Rotarian Mr. Andrew Ratremann from the Rotary Club of Santa Clara joined the meeting, sharing warm fellowship and greetings from his home club. In true Rotary tradition, a flag exchange took place to honor the visit. A special highlight of the moment was the presentation of a club flag that had recently arrived by mail from Rotarians in Belgium who had visited Aruba some time ago—a meaningful reminder of Rotary’s lasting global connections.

The highlight of the evening was an engaging LEGO® Serious Play® workshop facilitated by Giandra de Cuba. Through hands-on activities using LEGO bricks, members explored ideas, shared stories, and reflected on teamwork in a creative and interactive way.

The session included three activities: a rapid “Build a Tower” challenge that revealed different problem-solving approaches; a reflective exercise where members built models representing their most meaningful volunteer memories; and a final group activity focused on envisioning ways the club can grow stronger as an organization. Each exercise encouraged storytelling, reflection, and shared insight, transforming simple bricks into powerful expressions of experience and vision.

Through this playful yet purposeful approach, members experienced how creativity can unlock new perspectives, deepen relationships, and strengthen teamwork—reminding everyone that growth often begins when we are open to new ways of thinking.

The evening concluded in a spirit of inspiration and connection, reflecting the essence of Rotary: learning together, serving together, and growing together.
