Our General Meeting on September 14 was all about fellowship, with members enjoying a relaxed evening of good food, conversations, and laughter. President Henry shared club updates, including news about FR Joost, while FR Bert reflected on Club Kibrahacha’s 41st anniversary and FR Rishi reminded everyone about the upcoming District Conference. The evening concluded with a cheerful Happy Florin Moment, where FR Gianina shared stories from her recent trip to Denver, including an unexpected encounter with a bear!

Fellowship & Friends

After a week of big presentations and even bigger editorial promises, during today’s meeting, our President decided to keep things a little more relaxed this Monday.

No speaker, no PowerPoint, just good old-fashioned fellowship and dinner. Sometimes, that is exactly what the doctor ordered!

Attendance & Guests

With an attendance of 30%, this was a more intimate gathering. Perhaps the rest of the club was saving their energy for our next meeting, or maybe they simply did not get the memo. Either way, we were happy to see those who made it!

We also welcomed Joan Driessen as our guest for the evening.

Club Updates

President Henry started us off with an update on FR Joost, who is currently in the hospital in Cali. We are keeping Joost in our thoughts and wishing him a speedy recovery.

On a happier note, we were delighted to have Huub with us again. Always good to have some extra happiness in the room!

Celebrating Club Kibrahacha

FR Bert shared news of the 41st anniversary celebration of Club Kibrahacha, held last Thursday.

Bert expressed how proud he is to remain actively involved with Kibrahacha. A wonderful reminder that our Rotary connections and friendships extend beyond our own club meetings.

District Conference Reminder

FR Rishi reminded everyone that the District Conference discount ends at the end of this month.

So, if you have been thinking about joining, now is the time to stop thinking and start registering. Your future conference self will thank you!

Fellowship & Dinner

With no speaker on the agenda, the evening was all about enjoying each other’s company, catching up, sharing a few laughs, and having a good dinner together.

Sometimes the best Rotary meetings are the ones where we simply get to sit down, enjoy fellowship and remind ourselves why we keep coming back.

Happy Florin Moment

And then came the highlight of the evening, the Happy Florin Moment!

FR Gianina shared stories from her recent vacation in Denver, where she travelled for a Maná concert. Of course, one does not simply visit Denver for a concert and call it a day. There was hiking, wildlife spotting, and even a bear casually wandering around town after dinner!

Because apparently, in Denver, dinner comes with a side of live wildlife entertainment.

We are glad Gianina made it back safely, with stories to tell and, hopefully, no bear-related souvenirs.

Until next time, Rotarians. Keep the fellowship strong, the Happy Florins flowing, and your eyes open for bears!
