Our General Meeting on October 5 welcomed seven guests and featured an inspiring presentation by Jethro Saint Fleur, Aruba’s fastest runner, who shared his journey, achievements, and ambitions of reaching the Olympic level. With an impressive personal best of 31 minutes and 48 seconds in the 10K and a training schedule of approximately 110 kilometers per week, Jethro emphasized the importance of consistency, discipline, and sacrifice in achieving success. The evening reminded us that whether in sports, our professional lives, or Rotary, reaching our goals requires dedication, perseverance, and the determination to keep moving forward.
Our General Meeting on September 28 brought together 44% of our members for a lively evening of fellowship, welcoming visiting Rotarians from Hastings, Michigan, and celebrating FR Don de Veer’s birthday. Guest speaker Eliènne Krozendijk Croes delivered an insightful presentation on psychological safety, highlighting the importance of open communication, teamwork, and creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable speaking up. The evening was filled with valuable insights, laughter, and good company, reminding us that strong teams thrive when every voice is heard.
Our General Meeting on September 21 brought together 50% of our members for an enjoyable evening of fellowship and an insightful presentation by President Henry on investment decisions, psychological biases, and Warren Buffett’s investment philosophy. The discussion also explored Aruba’s real estate market, highlighting rising housing prices, investor demand, and the challenges of affordable housing. The evening concluded with birthday celebrations for FR Stuart and a closing song by Danilo, bringing another wonderful Rotary gathering to an end.

The evening concluded with a cheerful Happy Florin Moment, where FR Gianina shared stories from her recent trip to Denver, including an unexpected encounter with a bear!

Our guest speaker, Mr. Walter Mosher, gave an insightful presentation on Free Zone Aruba, highlighting its tax benefits, business opportunities, and role in diversifying Aruba’s economy. Members gained valuable insights into the opportunities available for international businesses and the importance of maintaining genuine economic activity on the island. The evening concluded with our traditional Happy Florin Moment, good fellowship, and a closing song.
